Hi all, I see lots of posts and plugins but I’m not sure if they are right for me, hope you can help:

Whenever I upload a new picture and resize it so to fit the size I want in the post, I realize the picture is just re-scaled, but it’s still loading a bit picture.
I’d like to get a new (smaller) file, so that my page loads quickly.

if the original pic is 1024×768 and I want it to display as 320×240, the big 1024×768 picture will be loaded, you see?

Is there a way to have a new file created and linked directly from the page where I add/edit pictures?

    Tks a lot!

  • I resize all my pictures before uploading. Resize JPEGS is a very fast resizer that can run on an entire folder, or just a single picture.

yeah, that’s another option, I use Pixresizer, it works great, but it’s still an extra step… and I usually adjust the size of the picture from inside the post. That’s why having the resize from inside wordpress would be nice.

    tks anyway. =)

    anybody else?

I can’t tell for sure, but would this do what you want?

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/vivtiger-image-resizer/

I’ll install it and I come back later to tell.
    tks

apparently I couldnt use it, but I found the plugin Scissors which (also apparently) does the job.
it crops and resizes pictures from the upload image window in WP.

i’ll make some tests in my nexts posts, and I’ll set this thread as solved for now!

    tks for your help guys
