Support » Fixing WordPress » Resize comment text field on threaded comments?

  • With threaded comments, the comment text field becomes much smaller and can’t be fully resized because it ‘vanishes’ beneath adjacent divs (or it does on the themes I’ve seen).

This can make commenting harder, because some words can’t be seen (I know the response can be composed in full width and then target to a specific comment before sending, but that’s less than user-friendly).

Is there a way to enable the comment text field to be above adjacent divs?

  • Wouldnt be able to help without a link to your site besides giving you the answer of yes it is possible.

    Here’s a third-party theme which does that: http://wpexplorer.me/demo.php?theme=fresh-clean

Resize the comment-text field and the right edge soon ‘submarines’ out of view. The effect is greater on a page with more than a single column, and can get very bad on threaded posts. I wondered whether a css z-index would keep it on top, but haven’t been able to do that.

From memory, I believe Twenty-Eleven only expands downward – a better option if I knew how to do it.
