  • Hello there @nirzol,
Some images simply don’t require smushing!
It’s not a setting anywhere, the plugin sends the image to smush.it and if it’s already optimized then this message is returned.

    Hi @nirzol

So are you saying that you lost everything for some reason, reuploaded the unSmushed images, and wordpress is now saying that they are already Smushed?

Can you remove the images and re-upload using the WordPress media uploader? As far as wordpress is concerned the images will have not been deleted in the first place. So it will think they are all the exact same images.

    Same issue here…

I Smushed the biggest part of my library. Then I cahnged some stuff and regenerated thumbs. So all images will have to be smushed again (because they are new). However Smush.it has somewhere saved that it has already been smushed:

    Processing openttd-creating-a-ro-ro-station…
    — [original] 1280 x 720: No savings
    — [thumbnail] 150 x 84: Reduced by 5.7% (274 B) already smushed
    — [large] 850 x 478: Reduced by 6.6% (7.5 KB) already smushed
    — [featured-sdk] 1280 x 400: Reduced by 7.8% (12.2 KB) already smushed
    — [et-featured-first] 578 x 420: Reduced by 6.6% (4.9 KB) already smushed
    — [et-featured-second] 578 x 208: Reduced by 6.8% (2.4 KB) already smushed
    — [et-featured-category] 578 x 280: Reduced by 6.7% (3.1 KB) already smushed
    — [et-featured-third] 287 x 208: Reduced by 6.1% (1.1 KB) already smushed
    — [et-recent-post-image] 160 x 160: Reduced by 5.7% (500 B) already smushed
    — [et-popular-post-image] 319 x 160: Reduced by 5.4% (842 B) already smushed
    — [et-popular-post-big-image] 639 x 160: Reduced by 6.7% (2.1 KB) already smushed
    — [et-category-image] 240 x 240: Reduced by 6.3% (1.2 KB) already smushed
    — [et-recent-first-image] 321 x 214: Reduced by 6.1% (1.3 KB) already smushed
    — [et-tabs-image-small] 60 x 60: Reduced by 5.0% (100 B) already smushed
    — [et_single_bg_image] 1280 x 400: No savings already smushed

When I save a these images to disk and upload it to yahoo smush it, it WILL get smushed.

I tried to deactivate and uninstall the Smush.it plugin. However, when I re-installed it, it already knew my “latest” images were smushed. So it still refuses to re-smush my regenerated files.

Can I reset the Smushit values in phpmyadmin somewhere?

It is clear that after reinstall there is still SmushIt data in the wordpress database.

    Hiya @magistar,

Thanks for your question! Currently, there’s not a built-in way to clear the database or re-smush those smushed images. But there’s a nifty workaround mentioned in the following thread:

    http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-wp-smushit-nextgen-gallery-integration-please-reconsider-integration

    Perhaps that’ll work for you?

If you have questions on this, do feel free to ask. We’re happy to assist. 🙂

    Cheers,
    David

I don’t think re-importing my pictures is an options. I am not using a gallery. I am writing guides that each use 5-6 illustrative images. New filed ID will probably mean I have to re-add them.

I did check phpmyadmin and noticed this:

I guess an SQL wizard could think up of a command to flush all this wp_smushit data? Unfortunately there are no unique identifiers:

First one used s10 and s27, second one used s10 and s30.

Unfortunately I am a total SQL noob and me trying this will end in a nuked database :P. Should I create a new topic for this?
