Reset password while not logged in (4 posts)

Is there a way to make the password reset feature to work when the user is not logged in? It seems you have to be logged in first to be able to use it.

The other option is to use http://www.mydomain.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword which kinda defeats the purpose of your plugin.

    Thanks for the feedback.

The same page handles both password reset (logged out) and password change (logged in).

Quick Start Guide page 4: Special Pages:

Users Guide: Options: User Profile URL:

Users Guide: Shortcodes: see both User Profile and Password:

Thanks for your reply Chad. I have these shortcodes (and I just noticed new ones in the links you sent):

    [wp-members status="out"]<strong>You are not logged in.</strong>[wp-members page="login"][/wp-members][wp-members status="in"][wp-members page="members-area"][wp-members page="login"][/wp-members]

With the code above, and you're not logged in, then you click on password reset, it only goes back to the same screen and does not show the password reset dialog. Maybe it's the effect of members-area. I need to study a combo of these new codes.

You can't use the page shortcodes that way. The members-area shortcode is all you need.
