Do you use the latest 2.0.39 version of the Ultimate member plugin?
Do you have multisite install?
Please try to do a quick conflict test so we can rule out conflicts with your theme or other plugins and see if this issue goes away.
Here is the doc on how to do a conflict test if you are not sure how to do it.

Yes I was using 2.0.39 and updated to 2.0.40 this morning.
I’ve just ran the conflict test by enabling twenty sixty nine theme, disabled all plugins, and only enabled Ultimate Member.
Result is the same. I’m still getting the “Your password reset link appears to be invalid. Please request a new link below.” message when i attempt password reset.

Do you use WordPress multisite?
Please check whether you have a server side caching e.g. Memcached, Varnish cache or Cloudflare and try to temporary disable it.

No, we don’t use multisite.
I’ve flushed caching many times which I thought it was causing the problem but it wasn’t. We don’t run cloudflare or any kind.
