reset password does not work

    After my login did not work, I have tried resetting my password using;
    – Lost your password?
    this sent me an email to reset, which i did, but then it would still not allow me in with this new password.

    Then I reset with phpMyAdmin, but again would not allow me in with new password.

    I then FTP in & have changed the name of my plugin folder and the theme I was using, in case there was some rogue code in there. Reset the password, but again No!

    This has happened after I noticed someone had managed to hack my site & change some of my posts/pages.

    Any ideas on how I can get back in?

    I have just tried uploading a new clean ver of wp-login.php taken from a new download of WP. I than reset password – but still would not let me in again.

    Still no Joy ;(

    have gone through http://codex.wordpress.org/Login_Trouble
    & emptied cookies & cache on browsers (safari, chrome) i’m trying to login with.

    plus made sure i am using the correct database by double checking the login details in wp-config.php file.

    a mystery, just cannot understand why I can’t re-set my password and login?

    I don’t know if this helps, but I do not see the txt
    ERROR: Invalid username. Lost your password?

    I just get the red box.

    I have now tried on a different machine, on a different platform.
    & tried login in with Chrome, Firefox, Safari & explorer.

    Just not getting in – has anyone any ideas??

    can a WP install block logins from particular IP address?
