We sell tickets to lectures, so a receipt/ticket is sent to customers when they purchase a ticket. It’s a “virtual” product. Sometimes customers don’t get/can’t find their receipt/ticket as we send it upon being moved to “Processing”. So we want to resend their receipt/ticket, but cannot find how to do that. The only options, when we pull up their order, are 1. Email invoice/order details to customer. 2. Resend new order notification. or 3. Regenerate download permissions.
None of these options seem to work for us. Are we missing something ?

  • There are mail logging plugins which save all outgoing emails and allow to resend them if/when needed. Put “mail log” into the search bar above and explore your options.

We sell tickets to lectures, so a receipt/ticket is sent to customers when they purchase a ticket.

You mention that the “email invoice/order details” option wouldn’t work for you, so it sounds like the ticket itself is not part of the core order confirmation emails that WooCommerce sends out of the box. Are these tickets being created using a third-party ticketing plugin?

If so, I’d recommend checking the settings of said plugin, to see if it would allow you to resend this information. If you can’t find that option, I’d recommend contacting the plugin developer for help.

If this isn’t coming from a third-party plugin, can you provide more details about how is the original “ticket” email bing sent, and why is resending the “email invoice/order details” email not enough?

There is a “ticket” which is really a receipt generated by WooCommerce that is sent to our customers when they pay for their ticket, and the transaction moves to “Processing”. I’ve tried resending the receipt using “email invoice/order details” and nothing happens. So I just want to resend the “Processing” email that WooCommerce generated.

@scsmith6 Thanks for the extra details!

Just to make sure this is being done correctly, can you verify that after selecting Email invoice / order details to customer you clicked on the right-arrow button? See here: http://cld.wthms.co/l0w4I6

As suggested by @ superkot above, I’d suggest installing an email log plugin, something like WP Mail Logging would work. This will let you verify whether it is a case of emails being sent but not received. You can read more about that here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/email-faq/#section-4

    Hopefully this helps!

I may have clicked on “Update” as opposed to the “Arrow” – does it make a difference ?

I believe both should work, but please do test installing the email log plugin.

    OK – will do.

    Thanks.

    Hi @scsmith6,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
