I’m trying out the free version of the plugin on a few sites and storing the backups on Google Drive. That means that the backups from each of the sites are all stored in the same folder on Google Drive. I installed UpdraftPlus yesterday on a website, then today to test the restore, deleted the files and the database tables and did a restore. The restore worked. However, after the restore, when I clicked on “Rescan remote storage”, multiple backups displayed in the plugin, all the way back to May 4th. Since I installed the plugin just yesterday (May 25th) on the site, this is of course incorrect. Is this a bug, or is the plugin supposed to pull in all backups from all websites?

    Hi,

That’s the intended use of that button – and is noted in the help text whilst you hover over it.

Okay. Thanks for letting me know.

Well, that would be great if you could tell by looking at a file what website it is associated with. You can’t. I’ve now got 160+ backup directories listed and can’t tell which one is which. This is intended use?

@typotamer – you’ve asked a question that goes beyond block’s query (and actually there are options available). Please do open your own thread to ask how to resolve your issue, in keeping with the wordpress.org forum guidelines (so that @block doesn’t get emailed with stuff he didn’t get asked about).

Please also don’t post negative reviews alleging that someone’s got a deliberate plan to extort money from you, without allowing an opportunity to address your question – https://wordpress.org/support/topic/brilliant-346?replies=1#post – this is really unhelpful and discouraging to plugin authors.

    Many thanks,
    David

You have probably noticed that your review is locked so that nobody can reply to it.

If you do ever want to know how to prune the list of backups quickly (which is very easy, and mentioned in the FAQs), just open a support ticket. The kindest thing I can say about your claim that it’s a deliberate, cunning plan to extort a few dollars out of you is that your mind-reading powers aren’t working very well today.

    Best wishes,
    David
