An issue we have is that not all users are selecting a category when they create events. Some limitations with filtering can render an undesired display of events. Some questions I have are:

Is there a way to “require” a user select category on the creation of an event?

What about having a “default” category that could be applied in the event a user did not select one?

I would love to either force users to pick a category or have some sort of default category assigned on creation, similar to the ‘uncategorized’ category in WP.

If these are not currently possible, please consider the following feature requests:

    • Require category selection upon event creation
    • Assign default category to newly created events with no category selected
    • Include ‘uncategorized’ and ‘untagged’ in the filter selection choices
    • Allow the Upcoming Events widget to exclude “Events with these categories” and “Events with these tags”
