Request: work in main media uploader, not only within posts

    I’d like to see a “search for images” (or similarly named) button alongside “Select Files” button at the /wp-admin/media-new.php admin screen.

    I want to find some generic images, not having them attached to a specific post.

    There’s very little demand for a feature like this, so this hasn’t been prioritized yet. Even if an image gets attached to a post, it’s still accessible in the media library, so far this hasn’t been a major issue, but we might consider it in the feature, if there’s increased demand.
