It would be helpful if there was an official create-react-app for Gutenberg Blocks that established conventions and best practices which included things like hot reloading and example blocks.

There is something aspirational about the “Hello Dolly” plugin. Inspire us developers with the art of the possible and establish a methodology to encourage quality and consistency.

I second this. The current way of creating blocks is ridiculously complex.

I would suggest that you either open a feature request on Github: https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/new?template=Feature_request.md
or/and attend one of the Core Editor Wednesday Meetings held in Slack in the #core-editor channel.

Btw if your able to open a PR https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/pulls and work on the feature that would be even better.

Bottom line is this is something that Core Editor developers will need to give feedback to. Bringing it up during the Open Floor in a Core Editor meeting might be the best place to start.
