Request for maintenance

First of all, thank you for using this plugin!

If you’ve been using this plugin for a while, chances are you have noticed that it has been getting out of date. Unfortunately priorities for me have shifted over the past few years and I am not able to maintain this plugin reliably any longer.

I started developing this plugin almost 6 years ago, and it was one of my very first plugins in the repository, so I’m grateful to see how many users it has helped over the years. However, now that I clearly cannot maintain it anymore on a regular basis (last updated 2 years ago), it is time to hand over ownership.

If you are interested in taking over maintenance of this plugin, please reach out to me. I want to make sure this goes into good hands, so please share some open-source activities and code references when you do. Also I kindly ask you to keep this plugin free of any monetization or ad efforts, like it has been throughout the years.

I am sorry to provide this update, but hopefully looking into the future with someone else keeping this plugin alive. Thank you!

Thanks for this update, and thanks again for making the plugin available for these many years. I hope that your search for a replacement to take over the plugin is successful!

Perhaps you can reach out to developers in the Bootstrap community too.

Any chance you could possibly push through one more update to get the plugin working while the search for someone to take over proceeds? I know that would be a great favor and a big help to many who use the plugin. I understand that one fix was suggested to you via a github pull request:

The plugin still shows tens of thousands of installs, and many of those may have multiple forms configured using this plugin – that’s a lot of semi-broken forms! And all of those forms will need to be re-coded at some point if you can’t find a replacement soon.

(Maybe you could push through one more update while we all wait?)

Sad to see this plugin wane, but it’s totally understandable. CF7, despite its ubiquity, is not especially extensible and its author does not seem bothered by regularly making backwards-incompatible changes. I wouldn’t want to keep playing catch-up, either.

Hi @flixos90 , i made a small fix to get it back to work with latest CF7. All input-fields need a <span> with class “wpcf7-form-control-wrap” around … so I added it like this: <span class="wpcf7-form-control-wrap' . $wrapper_class . $status . '"> in CF7BS_Form_Field.php. Thats all … now the fields get validated and the form submits.
