  • I’ve noticed the following in my error logs:

    AH00125: Request exceeded the
limit of 10 subrequest nesting levels due to probable configuration error.
Use ‘LimitInternalRecursion’ to increase the limit if necessary. Use
‘LogLevel debug’ to get a backtrace.

Then, I turned on debug and found it to be reporting the following, which appears like some infinite loop on Gzip files.

I’ve got Gzip turned on and am not getting any errors on the client end but I’d like to figure this out and fix it.

  • I had the same error with W3 Total Cache.
    cache/minify/dd5c8.js_gzip_gzip_gzip_gzip_gzip_gzip_gzip_gzip_gzip
I seem to have fixed this problem by going through the W3 settings and turning off the Rewrite URL structure tab on the General Settings page. Also (not related) i found that the CDN option was on, but I never set up or used this options. The gzip loop has gone.

I think that the new updated W3 has some issues.

Hi there and thanks for the response. I disabled rewrite URL rules for JS but I see the issue is still occurring.

Request exceeded the limit of 10 subrequest nesting levels due to probable configuration error. Use ‘LimitInternalRecursion’ to increase the limit if necessary. Use ‘LogLevel debug’ to get a backtrace.
