First off I really like some of the new features in v2.5

However the admin side of things while ‘looking’ cleaner and simpler is a lot more confusing to work with. I know a lot of people and clients who aren’t very computer savy and having everything in a simple one menu format where everything is easily found is both usefull for them and usefull when talking them through changes.

I’m not looking forward to doing this in V2.5 especially in the widget area. Also the fact there seem to be a large amount of browser problems with IE6 which is still quite widely used.

I think it would be fantastic and a real step forward if we could have the option of changing the admin style/layout to the ‘old’ style.

I can’t see the new admin area actually has anything that wasn’t featured on the old style wise so would really hope this might be possible.

    I don’t think I’m alone

  • Personally, I’d really prefer being able to have the admin pages look and behave the same as they did in 2.3.3. That version worked just fine. (ok the ‘visual’ editor was crap, but I never cared for WYSIWYG when editing html anyway, I’d rather just type the html that I need myself and be done with it)

The new admin layout frankly blows chunks. I’ll never understand why people have to change things that work just fine. At the very least there should be an option to use 2.3.3 look & feel if it’s preferred and in my case it most definitely is.
