• I have a wordpress blog and I had published a few posts while testing it out, I then set them back to draft. I set up feedburner to burn my feed and signed up for email notifications. If I publish a new post I get an email with the post, however, when I re-publish the posts that were set back to draft feedburner won’t email them.

I already tried this: set post to draft, resync with feedburner so post disappears, republish post, resync with feedburner so post reappears at the top. However the email still does not get sent. (I also tried the same steps by pinging feedburner instead of resync.)

I could not find any information on why this happens or how to get it to work. All I want to do is to be able to republish these posts that are set to draft and have feedburner email them out.

    Thanks!
    Nathan

  • This isn’t a WordPress issue – it’s a Feedburner problem. All WP can do is publish your feed. It can’t dictate what Feedburner does, or does not, do.

Once I unpublish it (set to draft) and republish it how would feedburner even know that it is the same post? WordPress must be assigning some sort of ID to the post (or the RSS post) that remains the same when returning to draft and republishing. If that is so, how would I get it to assign a new ID so it is identical to a brand new post?
