Support » Plugin: Error Log Monitor » Reports are being sent twice

  • Hi! This is a nice plugin but, I dont know why is it sending daily reports twice and up to three times. I checked the logs from the server and indeed, it is sending repeated emails, which you can confirm seeing at the mail ID (the 1YKcQw-0004vH-0i thing in the first case).
Any ideas why may this be happenning?

WP 4.1, PHP 5.4.37 running as cgi

That sounds like a race condition. The plugin uses WP Cron API to periodically check the log for new entries. If WordPress happens to trigger the Cron event several times in quick succession (which theoretically shouldn’t happen), you could end up with multiple instances of the plugin reading the log file at the same time. Each of them would see new entries, and each one would send an email notification.

Try the development version. It uses file-based exclusive locking to prevent concurrency issues of this kind.

ok, I’ll give it a shot. I’ll test that version a couple weeks and let you know the results…
