# Replicating a site

 * Is it possible to replicate someone’s site on a different server? I want to test
   some plugins that I’ve never used before and don’t want it to affect the original
   site if I screw up. Can I just copy the files to a new server and play with it
   there?

 * Yes you can install same version wordpress and replace wp-content folder from
   your the site you want to replicate.
 * Export Database from the site you want to replicate and drop tables from wordpress
   you installed import the file so that you replace all tables.
 * Reset permalinks
 * You may have to search and replace urls for that you can use this plugin [http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search-and-replace/](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search-and-replace/)
