Replacing admin folder manually

    I want to manually replace the wp-admin folder on the ftp site on a live wordpress site to try and fix an error with a plugin.

    Is it okay to replace this while the site is live? Or can I just copy the folder and replace it?

    Also, the updates page says I am running the current version of WordPress, but the dashboard says I’m using 3.2.1. Why would that be?
