# Replacing a database

 * I’m trying to move a WP site from my local machine to a live server (following
   these instructions: [http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress](http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress))
   and the part I’m not clear about how to upload the database from my local machine
   to the server?
 * Do I use phpMyAdmin?
 * Or do I just login to server and upload the database? But I don’t where I upload
   it to?
 * Please advise.

 * yea – just like a website
    navigate to phpmyadmin on localhost dump database
 * go to website
    log in to phpmyadmin import database
