replace slider with static header image

    i can i dismantle the slider on the homepage – i just want to display a static image as a header on each page

    Simple answer: put a slider with one image only on each page. To do this:
    Edit Page > Screen options > Slider options > check
    Then make a slider for each image you want to show at the top.

    There are harder ways too, but this nicely combines the inbuilt functionality with not needing to code anything.
