    Hi,

I followed this post to replace the search submit button with an icon that comes from generatepress font-family.
When I run GTmetrix, I can see in the waterfall that generatepress.woff2 is loaded and extending load time.
I want to replace the icon with a png file so the woff2 file doesn’t need to be loaded.

Is this a good approach? If yes, how can I replace the icon for a png from my media library?

    Hi there,

generatepress.woff2 needs to load (it’s inside style.css), so there’s no reason not to use it.

It’s a tiny file (1.23kb), so it shouldn’t be extending your load time by any considerable amount.

We might look into replacing all theme icons with SVGs in the near future.

Never ever did I enjoy a theme more as GeneratePress.
