Support » Plugin: Enable Media Replace » Replace bug html unicode chars

When replacing with the option ‘Replace the file, use new file name and update all links’ all characters are replaced by unicode escape sequences on all the pages/posts that had a reference to the replace image.

So where I’d previously had a button rendered by <button>subscribe</button> it now shows u003cbuttonu003esubscribeu003c/buttonu003e.

    HI @sjeiti,

Can you please confirm that you have the latest version of Enable Media Replace installed (3.4.2)?

    Thank you,

I installed it three days ago so it was the latest version at that time. The WordPress version was 5.5.1, the PHP version 7.4.3.
After the issue I de-installed the plugin (I only needed one file replaced). I’ll install and try to reproduce the issue later today or tomorrow.

    No problem, Sjeiti.

Let us know how it goes, please 🙂

Alright, I tried to reproduce it but failed. It must have been some other Gutenberg block related fluke. I’ve changed my review accordingly.

    Hi @sjeiti,

I can see in the end you did not change your review accordingly: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/works-with-flaws-2/

Did you find any other issue perhaps?

I’m sure I changed it to five stars. I don’t know what happened there, I’ll have a look when I’m behind a computer again.

    it should be updated now
