Support » Fixing WordPress » Replace all occurence of text

  • Hello,

    I have migrated to WordPress, but I found that there are strange HTML special characters generated during the RSS Import process.

    How could I replace those characters?

    An example of the problem is here:

    Where you can see something like these:
    “"#000000"”
    “%22http://www.blogthings.com/idealcareerquiz/%22”

  • You can use phpMyAdmin to do a search and replace in the database directly.

    Run this sequel query where xyz is what you want to replace and abc is what you want to replace it with.

    UPDATE wp_posts SET post_content=REPLACE(post_content, 'xyz', 'abc');

    If the odd characters are in a table other than post_content, of course, you’d have to use the appropriate table.
