Thanks for reaching out @mizike2. Unfortunately, right now there is not an option to create recurring events or to show the events on the public side of the website.
If you’re looking for a front-facing calendar, I would encourage you to check out the Sugar Events Calendar Lite plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/sugar-calendar-lite/) or The Events Calendar plugin (http://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar/).

IS this on the road map? It would be really inconvenient to have to enter each board meeting manually, and then twice (once in the board management app, and once on the public side). If I install one of the event calendar plugins, would this pull in the scheduled board dates?
@mizike2, unfortunately not at the moment. If you’re looking for all the events to be public, I’d encourage you to use one of the event plugins I listed instead of our board management system. Our tool is meant to be a private tool for the organization and the board. I also know that at least the Pro version of The Events Calendar has recurring events.
