Repeated e-mail alerts for “wc_admin_unsnooze_admin_notes”

Hey.

So, we installed WooCommerce, and now we’re getting these emails every hour:

Message: Scheduled-action status has been changed; details: ID: 47,Old status: pending,New status: publish,Title: wc_admin_unsnooze_admin_notes

This stopped being funny this morning. However, I can’t ignore alerts for this, because

It seems that you disabled the email alerts for new site content, this panel is intended to provide a way to ignore specific events in your site and with that the alerts reported to your email. Since you have deactivated the new site content alerts, this panel will be disabled too.

I assume this is because I have “Receive email alerts for changes in the post status (configure from Ignore Posts Changes)” unchecked?

But if that’s unchecked, why am I getting alerts for a status change?

So, is there anything I can do about this? We’re further 60 e-mails in.

I was having this same problem. Turns out that the issue is with the WooCommerce Admin plugin. Disable that and the emails stop coming. Here’s a couple more topics that discuss the issue in more depth: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/message-sending-wc_admin_unsnooze_admin_notes/

Yes, we’re aware that this is coming from WooCommerce Admin. However, for some reason it’s Sucuri that’s sending these notifications. Disabling WooCommerce Admin is a half-measure – the solution won’t be complete until either one is updated to fix the issue.

As I understand, the issue stems from core WordPress design philosophy (“everything is a kind of post”) being applied to things which are most decidedly NOT intended to be content.

Most notably, Sucuri allows filtering and/or outright disabling these notifications. I was under the impression that I have the notifications disabled – meaning WooCommerce Admin is doing something that breaks Sucuri’s ability to ignore these changes.

Even if WCA fixes their stuff, I think it’d be worthwhile for the Sucuri team to look into exactly how their filtering system failed to filter this one out.
