 * Hi there,
 * I’m hoping someone can help me. Please.
 * I’m new to migrating WP sites and I was in the process of transferring across
   and made a mistake.
    So I wanted to go back to my original site from which I
   had exported the DB and backed up. When I tried to use my old site wp-admin,
   the database needed to be repaired. Despite trying to repair the DB file in WP
   and also in phpMyAdmin the repairs don’t work. I’ve tried importing my exported
   SQL database, but that doesn’t work and I get the same repair database message.
   I think that possibly I didn’t back up the database correctly in the first place
   and now I can’t get it back. I’m at a loss at what to do, I seem to have lost
   all my work, but I know the content is still there, it’s just the database info
   that I can’t access. I haven’t got much experience on the database side of things,
   so please be gentle with me.
 * Please can someone suggest something – preferably other than starting again!
 * Thanks in advance,
 * Rob

 * What are the error messages you are getting?

 * I’m getting the “Error establishing a database connection” from the site and “
   One or more database tables are unavailable. The database may need to be repaired.”
   from the admin.
    Having tried to repair the databases it’s still the message
   I get.
 * Thanks,
 * Rob

 * Look at your wp-config file and check the database credentials are correct.

 * I’ve done that, I even had a back up and tried that one. Same messages.

 * Can you view you site at all now? Have you tried rebooting your server?

 * Not sure how I would do that, can I ask my web host (1and1) to do that for me?

 * If you are not on a dedicated server then that is not the problem. If you do
   have control over it you should be able to reset it.
