(don’t force JS in head + try “inline all” or “inline & defer” the CSS)
I experience the same issues at
http://www.staeudtner.com and
http://www.cridon.de
Your descriptions of the plugin promises that js and css files would not block rendering an more. Now you are blocking them yourselves?
Your descriptions of the plugin promises that js and css files would not block rendering an more.
So where in the description do you read exactly that?
Now you are blocking them yourselves?
it’s a matter of config cridon. do have a look at the settings and the FAQ 🙂
I may have been reading this on a website which recommended your plugin in order to achieve a acceptable level of optimization at Google page speed check.
I understand that it is difficult to identify the “above the fold” marker as you write in your FAQ, however Google uses a mechanism of doing that.
Is there a way of making the Google page speed check happy with your plugin or will I always see those messages referring to your plugin
“
Entfernen Sie JavaScript, das das Rendering blockiert:

Optimieren Sie die CSS-Darstellung für die folgenden URLs:

”
sure B-)
1. don’t force JS into head
2. try “inline all CSS” or “defer & inline CSS”
there’s more info in the FAQ 🙂
Thanks Frank, but neither option improves the speed. Especially point 2, makes it slower…
but neither option improves the speed
how exactly are you measuring your site speed Cridon?
Good point, Frank!
I am not measuring the site speed, but what Google thinks of it with its tool Page Speed Insights. I understand that is recommended in order to optimize a page for SEO:
https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fstaeudtner.com%2F
Thanks, Juergen
OK, for Google page speed insights you’ll have to not force JS in head (which you’re doing already) and “inline & defer” your CSS (cfr. FAQ for info on how to do that).
To further improve your score, you’ll have to also:
* activate W3TC’s page cache
* have AO remove your google fonts (or alternatively try https://wordpress.org/plugins/google-webfont-optimizer/).
* tell wpml not to enqueue the language-switch CSS which AO can’t optimize (you might have to tweak your own CSS a bit to compensate for this)
happy optimizing! 🙂
Wow, thanks for the in depth analysis!
I guess that will take a while to implement 😉
And also thanks for your great support – the supporr of WPML is not close to yours in terms of speed and quality!
