    I’ve done something bad.

I tried to rename the WordPress address as well as the blog address for my site from:

But I didn’t move any files whatsoever within my site. Now, Bad Things are happening. I can’t get to the blog; I can’t get to the admin dashboard; I CAN get to admin dashboard by entering the old admin page address, but it sure doesn’t look like WordPress.

    This topic
addresses some of my concerns, and took me to this link:

But what if I’ve ignored step 8? (among other errors)
I’m no expert, and verrry puzzled. Can someone please tell me:
    – what I’ve done
    – How to fix it?

    Thanks – thanks – thanks

If you have access to the database (e.g. via phpmyadmin) follow this tutorial to change the site_url and home values in the options table:

    THANKS…still problems though

I used phpmyadmin to change those values, in the siteurl and the home fields, back to I really just want to get it back to where it was.

No effect. Still mucked up. Thoughts?

If you are using WP 2.0 – delete the cache folder under wp-content.

    Done. Fixed. Thanks a million.

Moral of this story: I shouldn’t muck around with things I don’t understand.
