Rename a custom post type and custom taxonomy?

    I’ve installed a plugin, and it’s name in the admin menu, and the URL’s it uses looks very ugly.

    Is there a way that I can completely rename the Custom Post Type, as well as the Custom Taxonomy that’s registered for that post type? So that it’s name in the admin menu, as well as the slugs, urls etc. changes? Looking for a way to do it through functions.php

    The pages are not yet picked up by google so I don’t mind if all the single post URLs changes too, just as long as the posts don’t get lost or deleted in the process.

    Is it possible to rename the post type & taxonomy created by a plugin without loosing my posts, and while keeping the plugin running smoothly?
