  • Hi

    Although it sounds strange, i cant seem to find a way to remove or hide the wordpress editor from the Edit Post completely.

    I have a multisite blog and want to create a special “site” which is based only on meta data. i have no need for the text editor (visual or html) what so ever – in that specific “site”.

    Can anyone tell me how to remove it completely?

  • Hi

    I tried to use remove_meta_box, but was unsuccessfull.

    Finally i’ve found a pretty ugly workaround. here it is:

    add_action('admin_head', 'hide_post_box');

    function hide_post_box() {
    ?>
    	<style>
    		#editor-toolbar{ display:none; }
    		#editorcontainer{ display:none; }
    		#quicktags { display:none; }
    		#post-status-info { display:none; }
    	</style>
    <?php
    }

    Enjoy

    Why not register a custom post type and leave out the editor (set to false) in the supported arguments?

    Unregistering built-in post types or elements of built-in post types isn’t supported yet, but you could archieve it with a custom post type..

    See the “supports” parameter.
