  • I have a lot of white space (about an inch) between my menu bar and the content on my pages. My theme has a custom CSS option.

    Here’s the site: aclosetaffair.com

Is there any simple way to eliminate a lot of that space so that there is just a normal gutter between the menu bar and content? If there is a simple code I can put into the style sheet, that would be best because I am very inexperienced with doing anything else.

I would also like to eliminate some space above and below the header. If there is a simple style solution to that as well, please share.

    Thanks for any advice!

  • Try using Firefox with the Firebug add-on for this kind of CSS troubleshooting. Or use whatever developer tool is available in your web browser.

Thank you for the advice esmi, but that wasn’t really what I was after. I don’t want to troubleshoot, I want to know how to make the change that I want. I don’t think I’ll know what I’m looking at with Firebug and I sure won’t know how to fix whatever it is…

I just want to change the amount of white space below the main menu/above the content.

I am using the theme Elucidate and I have a custom CSS option with jetpack. I have also figured out how to look at the html online to “troubleshoot,” but that is really just frustrating me.

I have been looking into how to change the CSS and reading all of the threads here on the subject, but have not found a solution that works for me. Here is the link to my site: aclosetaffair.com

If anyone can tell me what I should put into the custom CSS style sheet to reduce the amount of white space, that would be a godsend. I realize that a lot of the time it is theme specific which is probably why solutions from other threads haven’t worked.

Thanks for the help in advance!
