[resolved] Removing title-line from top of pages (4 posts)

    Hi all,

    I'm new to WordPress and am just setting up a site (http://the-wolf-and-i.com/) using the Pinboard theme.

    I've been modifying a few things with a child css, and I have a question in regards to the title of the pages. If you look on the site the menu bar has the links Contact, About, News, Projects etc, and when you go to those links a title at the top of the page/post box also comes up with Contact, About, News, Projects etc. I would like to remove that title and reduce the padding where it's located in the post box so that it is equal to the side margins.

    I've had a look at other topics but can't seem to find anything that works. If anyone has any suggestions or can help in any way I'd really appreciate it.

    Thanks, Mike

    Add the following to your child's style.css:

    .entry-title {display: none;}
    .aligncenter {margin: 0 auto;}

    Review other pages to ensure the styling did not get applied to something you did not intend. If the title still displays despite this, add " !important" in front of the first semi-colon of the rules, including the preceding space. I based the rules specifically for your About page, not sure if the rules will work properly elsewhere.

    This gives you the idea of the correct approach, even if it's not quite right. Find the right selector and add or edit appropriate rules to get the desired effect.

    Worked a treat throughout every page.
    Thank you very much! It's appreciated.
    Cheers, Mike

    Ah, actually there is one slight problem - it also removes the headlines from the blog post on the main/home page. Any suggestions?

    Thanks again...

    I was afraid of that, I should have looked deeper before suggesting a solution. It currently looks like you figured out how to remove the titles from the appropriate page templates, which is actually a better solution. Cheers.
