Group: is there an easy way to remove the META category list in the default wordpress template?

example: http://seoshed.com (see: bottom category list in the sidebar)?

I can’t seem to find that item in Link Lists, nor any other way to turn it off. I don’t want to delete it from the .php file if I don’t have to…

    Ideas?

    Thanks.

  • If you add the widgets you need, all the default stuff in the sidebar will disappear…

You can add all you need via the widgets, so pages, categories etc can be added back…

What you have there now is the “If no widgets exist” set of items. So add some widgets and they should disappear..

    Hi,

You need to edit the sidebar.php file from your wordpress theme and remove the desired METAn code from that file which will remove from the sidebar of your blog..

    Thanks,

    Shane G.

    Thanks group.

I was aware that I could remove the info by editing the PHP, but wanted to avoid that in the particular project.

    Thanks for all the tips.

I will follow the widget advice.

    Cheers!
