Removing the Hovering Menu Bar Making Posts Private to only certain groups

  • Okay, I can’t link to the wordpress as it’s all private due to being for a company, but it’s using the “Twenty Eleven 1.2” theme. Nothing has been modified besides the colors and header image.

    1. http://i54.tinypic.com/106h9x3.jpg Essentially, I need to remove that but I have no idea how/where.

    2. I need to be able to make certain posts only available to Admins or only available to Admins and Editors or etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do not edit the Twenty Eleven theme. It is the default WordPress 3.2 theme and having access to an unedited version of the theme is vital when dealing with a range of site issues.

Create a child theme for your customisations. Once your child theme is active, we should be able to help any customisations. As to your questions:

    1. That’s the WordPress Admin bar. It’s part of core – not the theme. It can be turned off in each user’s profile.

    2. You need to look for a suitable plugin – such as Role Scoper.

    Alright, Thanks. It’s all set.
    1. Thank you 🙂 Took care of it now.

    2. Thank you for a plug-in name! …Now to just figure out how to use it. I haven’t seen so many options for a plug-in in my life.

And just one last question–is there any way to do something like this: http://webdesign.about.com/od/dhtml/a/aa101507.htm in a WordPress Post?

Yes – try looking for spoiler plugins.

Thank you 🙂 I’ll look through them. Hopefully I can find one that doesn’t just say “Spoiler” and lets me name what I want it to be.
