# Removing Slideshow Excerpt- PLEASE help

 * The above is my original thread to which no one has responded. For months I’ve
   been asking just how I to remove my sites’ featured post excerpt in the homepage’s
   slideshow. Nobody- and I mean nobody- has been able to figure this one out.

 * I would also like to get rid of the […] at the end of each excerpt beneath the
   slideshow as well.

 * Your SLIDESHOW doesn’t have excerpts. You have them all listed below that, though,
   in your posts excerpts.

 * You’re seeing the _automatic_ excerpt. That’s what happens when you use `the_excerpt()`
   in your theme, without making a custom excerpt.
