    I want to remove all the shadow effect from the menu, 3d text effects from the menu and side bar, 3d effect from the side bar in Mystique theme. I wanted simple and clean without all the 3d/shadow effects, kind of like this theme:

    Can I do that?

    Thanks in advanced guys 😀

    There are thousands of WordPress themes – which means that many people won’t be familiar with your particular theme. So a link to your site where people can see the theme might result in more responses.

    Hi esmi,

    This is the link:

    But basically, I’m talking about the 3d/shadow effects in the default Mystique theme. It looks the same in all sites using this theme.

    this is possible in a older version of Mystique (1.72 and lower).
    you can still download it from wordpress org:

    once you activate it enable the “imageless” option from the theme setting. it does exactly what you want…

    Thanks digitalnature. Does that mean I’m going to loose all the customization I did in the newer version? I did quite lot of customization.

    In your style.css-file
    find line:207 and 208 (.shadow-right & .shadow-left)
    background:url("images/shadow.png") no-repeat scroll left bottom transparent;

    find line: 527 (.box-top-right)
    height: to height:0;

    And to get rid of the text-3d-effect (shadow)
    Search for this in your css:
    And remove it.

    That should do it!

    Thanks gregnak, that worked like a charm 🙂 That is exactly what I was looking for 😀
    (And I even think the theme is loading faster now for some reason)

    If I only know now how to remove the the gradient effect from the menu to make it plain solid color like this one;

    Thanks again for your help, really appreciate it

    Easy to do 😉
    Line 116 in your css, find and remove:
    background:url("images/nav.png") repeat-x scroll left top #EEEEEE;
    background-color:#EEEEEE; Change the color (#EEEEEE) to whatever you like.

    You’re amazing! That helped a lot gregnak! I actually backed up the style.css file and started trying all sort of things now 🙂 It sure helped a lot 🙂 Thanks 😀

    Hi Digitalnature
    the link to is broken 🙁

    Could you please provide a correct one? I’m in need of the older version of your fantastic theme….
