Removing Password Field from Registration

  • Hi,

I am setting up a site at the moment using woocommerce, however I am struggling a bit with something I want to do.

Basically, I want people to be able to register with just their Username and Email address, then I have to accept or deny their request, then a password is sent to them using a plugin I found. The problem is I can’t get the site to allow registration without a password, even when I delete the fields it tells me a password is required.

Is there anyway to fix this? Its the final part of the site that I need to do so my frustration levels are pretty high right now :P.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • Leave the password field in place with the field name in tact, but set the field type to hidden and generate some random string to put into that field automatically. That way the form can be submitted without error and the user has no idea what the password is – unless they view the HTML and make note of it.
