Support » Fixing WordPress » Removing "Pages, Archives, and Categories"

  • Sorry if this has been asked before. I searched and I think others had a similar question, but I’d digg a personalized answer.

So, if you scroll down on this page:

you’ll see that Pages, Archives, and Categories are kinda thrown in at the bottom. Can someone lend me a hand? I’m not that fancy with code, but I’ll dive right in with some guidance. I also remember reading somewhere that those are turned on by default if you don’t have any widgets enabled, but I have the random product one at the bottom.

    A little more info:
The theme is Hatch and I’m using the plugin WooCommerce. I think the problem might be in WooCommerce, but I’m not sure.

Those items are in your sidebar. Maybe go into appearance > widgets and see if you insert a widget if they go away.

I have other widgets enabled. I’m thinking it might have something to do with the theme, which makes me sad because that makes it much more complicating. But also much more satisfying once its solved. 🙂

It also might have something to do with the plugin. I’m using WooCommerce.

Umm.. I;ve never tinkered with WooCommerce…. does it give you the option to create page templates? Maybe you need to make one.

I don’t know if there is an option for that. I’m almost convinced though that its WooCommerce, because it only appears on individual product pages. I think i have to pay for their support though…

Does anyone know the solution to this? I can’t see where it’s written up there. I have the same issue – I’m using the same theme (Hatch) with woocommerce.

It’s a very good combination except for the products page randomly inserting that list, of “Pages”, “Archives” and “Categories”. I can’t find where it’s from.

I’ve looked at all the theme template documents and the woocommerce plugin documents. I can’t find any references to it.

Please look at this page – – and see if you can figure out how to delete the section under the pictures of “Related Products” – where it lists “Pages”, “Archives” and “Categories”…

It’s really rather random and obviously doesn’t belong there.

I’ve struggle for a long time trying to set up an e-commerce site using WordPress. Can’t believe it’s so difficult. I couldn’t figure out WP e-Commerce, but woocommerce seems ok, except for this random insertion of “Pages”, “Archives” and “Categories” on the products page.

I’d appreciate it if someone could tell me the solution.

    Thanks in advance.

Holy cow, I had the same exact problem and finally figured it out after so much searching. This seems to be a common problem, but man, it took way too much searching to solve. What I eventually learned was that WooCommerce inserts a SIDEBAR for some reason. This cursed sidebar is what’s expressing itself as that annoying “Pages, Archives, Categories” business.

Essentially, you have to nix the WC sidebar by adding the following line of code into your theme’s function.php file. I happen to use Atahualpa, but it should work for all themes. Just copy the following line of code:

    remove_action( ‘woocommerce_sidebar’, ‘woocommerce_get_sidebar’, 10);

Then, open the functions.php in your theme editor, and insert this line right above the “?>” at the very bottom. Click save.

I never did figure out the answer. I just kept changing themes until I found one that didn’t have that problem. Thanks for your answers, however.

Thirsty Reader. This worked perfectly and rang true with another post I found, although they didnt say it was the theme functions.php which had me confused. thanks for clarifying and solving my problem. LIKE!
