Support » Fixing WordPress » Removing malicious code – malicious 404 redirect

  • Hey everybody,
I was recently notified by GoDaddy that my site was infected with Malware and that it had been blacklisted by Google as a result. I did a little digging and managed to find malicious code in the .htaccess file as well as my theme header. I’ve deleted all instances yet the infection persists. I ran a site scan with and it had detected malware in the following URLs

I’m not quite sure how to go about cleaning the remaining infections seeing as the URL seems invalid? Is there some sort of trick here, or am I just a total noob? You may safely visit the site’s homepage/blog directory now (, but if you try and visit any page that would normally return a 404, the malicious redirect takes over. I’m at a loss!
I need to get this site off the blacklist. ANY input whatsoever would be GREATLY appreciated!
