Support » Fixing WordPress » Removing "Leave a reply"

  • I’m trying to remove all the features associated with leaving comments such as, “leave a reply” and all the response section so that it looks like a regular web page with no blogging. I think I need to delete some lines in the index php, single php and archive php but when I go there i don’t see the lines associated with the things I mentioned above. Is there a plug in that disables this or something I can do differently? Please help! I have to get that off there and I have to do it in wordpress.

    You can use this plugin to hide the comments feature in the admin.

    You might be correct about modifying templates. I don’t know what theme you’re using, but let’s take a look at line 62 of single.php in the twentyten theme:
    <?php comments_template( '', true ); ?>
    If comments are allowed for the post, then the comment area is displayed. If the “allow comments” box is unchecked, then nothing is displayed.
