Removing IP Address from URL (7 posts)

I've tried to get every Pin-it button imaginable to work and none of them will. I emailed Pinterest and they said I needed to remove my IP address from my URL. Any idea how to do this? I looked on YouTube to find a tutorial and there doesn't seem to be any.

My website is http://www.moxiegirllife.com. If that helps.

What is your domain name? Not an IP address (e.g., 69.195.125.166), but an actual name (e.g., http://www.moxiegir.com)? From what I gather, Pinterest is telling you you need a name, not an IP.

My domain name is http://www.moxiegirllife.com. Yup, that's what Pinterest needs. I've read tutorials on how to remove the IP address from my URL but they seem really complicated, which makes me paranoid that I'm reading the wrong tutorials. I just don't want to start messing with my settings until I have the right info on how to do it basically.

When I navigate to http://www.moxiegirllife.com/, your homepage loads, but when I click any links your IP loads (http://69.195.124.166/~moxiegir/about/). WordPress thinks your home url is http://69.195.124.166/~moxiegir/

All you "should" have to do is update your settings in the WP admin area (Settings >> General) and update your WordPress Address and the Site Address to http://www.moxiegirllife.com

Okay. I just did that and it says that http://www.moxiegirllife.com is not a valid URL name for both the Site Address and WordPress Address.
