Support » Theme: Clean Retina » Removing "HOME" text from mobile homepage / Removing slider from Posts page

  • Hi there.

I’m attempting to build a site with one theme for desktop (a modified version of Twenty Eleven) and another for mobile (a modified version of Clean Retina). I’m using a plugin called BAAP Mobile Version. I’m not a coder, so I’m kind of learning as I go. I’ve had good luck so far, but I’ve run into something I’d like to change, and I can’t figure out how.

When I view my homepage on a mobile device (I’m on iOS), the word “home” is at the bottom of the page, just above the footer. Tapping it just reloads the homepage. This isn’t displaying on any other pages, and I’m not sure how to remove it.

Separately, on my “News” page (which displays all the posts), the featured slider is displaying at the top. I only want it on the homepage.

I believe both of these issues have to do with the “Static Front Page” settings in the Customize menu, but I’ve tried all the available options and nothing gets me the desired outcome: no “home” text on homepage, no featured slider on News page.

Again, you’ll have to view the site on a mobile device to see the issues:

Thanks in advance for any advice!

  • ETA: I should probably note that I can’t really change the “Static Front Page” settings because they’re controlling how the slider works on the desktop version of the site…
