• Hello Sir,
I was looking to just create a small personal Blog. So I just said I should search for free Blog Theme. I saw your Theme “Color Blog“, and I
installed it to test it, but I soon became uncomfortable quickly.

The reason for this discomfort is because of the Footer Attribution–Astra Theme, OceanWP, Yatri, Sparker, Sydney, Rife free, Ashe,Phlox and many Themes exist, that we can use for free.

And we don’t bother about Footer Attribution or Footer Credits–simply because those people know that it’s open source, and when they said they want to
have a free version, they meant it from their heart–without needing to tie a rope to our legs.

Your Footer Attribution is the reason I uninstalled Color Blog and went back to Blocksy Theme.

But suppose I decide one day to try Color Blog again–without a footer Attribution, Is there a way I can remove it?

Needing to hear from you soon.

    Regards

    Hello @gamicord

It will be great if you give credit to the template author for using templates. But as you said its GPL license theme you can customize the theme or template according to your requirements. In free version you need to customize the code to change the footer attribution text.

But you want this feature dynamically in customizer panel and add your own footer copyright text then you can use the pro version of color blog which have feature to customize it.

    Thanks 🙂

Can you tell us which ‘Theme File’ contains the footer copyright text which we can edit to make the customized changes.

    Highly appreciate your response.

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks Sir for your reply.

I don’t know PHP and have not written my first line of PHP Code. But I am not above taking risks–I have taken a risk on one of my sites to add PHP code snippets which enabled the WooCommerce Sales Discount Percentage.

There’s no reason why I can’t take the same risk on Color Blog Theme. If you can tell us where the Footer Attribution Code is hidden, I can always go there to edit it. And if it breaks the website, no problem–because I will be installing it on a Test site which I can always delete and re-install.

So where are the Template files where I can see the Footer Attribution Code?

    Hello @gamicord @voyancestories1

You can go to inc >> hooks folder and edit the mt-custom-hooks.php file to change the copyright code or customize the copyright text.

    Thanks 🙂

    Did you find the file?

What did you write there? I mean did you succeed to get the Footer Attribution off? What snippets did you put there?

Where’s the URL of where you used it? I’d like to see that the Footer Attribution is really off.

    Regards
