Removing Filezilla – keeping wordpress

  • Ok, this is probably a stupid question, but I’m new to all this and I just want to make sure.

I uploaded a site to a host using Filezilla. I have Filezilla stored on an old computer, that needs to be rebooted/reinstalled to work properly. Will something happen to my wordpress-site when Filezilla disappears from my computer? Everything should be stored at my host, not on my computer, right?

  • A) There are no dumb questions, though on occasuins I have seen dumb answers.

    B) You are correct in that everything that runs your website is on the server (host). You will not need to use filezilla again in all likelyhood, on the other hand it just might be handy to be able to call upon it, is there a reason you couldn’t install a modern version of filezilla on your usual computer?

    C) Your web hosting most likely provides some form of file management, also things like media uploads are well covered within wordpress, if you dont ever want to do anything more ambitious then you can do without filezilla.
