[resolved] Removing /event/ from the single event page url (5 posts)

    Hi,

In one of the recent updates an /event/ has crept into the url of individual event pages.

Example from my site http://www.irishtriathlon.com/race-calendar-ireland/hellfire-adventure/ has now become http://www.irishtriathlon.com/race-calendar-ireland/event/hellfire-adventure/

In the Event Manager Options >> pages >> permalinks slugs, I have left the left the events text box empty, as I don't want the /event/ in the url. Is there another place or another settings that I have also to change?

Reason: my request is to help the websites SEO. The words Ireland, calendar, race, triathlon are all useful, but the word 'event' is not, hence I don't want it in the url.

Note: the old event url auto redirects to the new longer url, so it's not a huge problem for links coming from other websites.

    Brian.

    Aglonwl,

I tried the suggestion about archives in this forum post, but no joy.

    Are there any other pointers?

    Brian.

have you checked your settings page? e.g. under Events > Settings > Pages > Slugs

    Marcus,

Yes, I initially tried Events > Settings > Pages > Slugs and ensured that the text box for the events was still left blank.

I'm a bit puzzled by the fact that the redirect works where the url http://www.irishtriathlon.com/race-calendar-ireland/hellfire-adventure/ gets redirected to http://www.irishtriathlon.com/race-calendar-ireland/event/hellfire-adventure/
