[resolved] Removing "Continue Reading ->" From Untitled Theme (4 posts)

    I've been scouring the internet for hours, including both WordPress.org and WordPress.com forums and I can't seem to figure this out. I'm adding the <!--more--> tag after I embed video players to keep my site minimalistic - the intent being that written content will be added after the player. However, I'm then saddled with a "Continue Reading ->" link. I want to remove this so that the viewer will click on the title to get the full post.

    Looking online I've seen reference to finding the_content and the_excerpt, but I can't find them *anywhere* in my code. Style.css, index.php, archive.php, etc. are all devoid of any reference to excerpts.

    Anybody have any ideas?

    Site in question: http://valiantproductions.tv/ (Please be kind, I'm still building it and haven't coded since the new millennium!)

  2. Hi there, the simplest way to remove the "Continue Reading" link is with CSS:

    .more-link {
    display: none;

    An easy way to add custom CSS like this is with the Jetpack plugin - which it looks like you're already using. You can activate the Custom CSS module and add the CSS there. This way, your CSS won't be overwritten when you update the theme.

    Just bear in mind that your visitors may not realize that they need to click the title to ready the full post, so they may miss it. :-)

    Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Kathryn, you rock! Thanks so much for the help!

    And I'm totally aware of the navigational consequences. The extra information is totally optional, though, and I'd rather have a clean site that focuses on the video content ;)

  4. My pleasure!

    And gotcha re: the optional info. :-)
