# Removing comments section from theme

 * Hi all:
 * We’re using wp as a CMS and don’t require comments of any kind on our pages. 
   That said, I’m having trouble getting them to disappear entirely from the theme
   that we are working with. The theme is pagelines – and they are using another
   language to generate pages from a page template that I can’t seem to locate (
   they are using JS, LESS, and a few other things on top of the PHP). Is there 
   a php or wp command that will allow me to toggle comments off completely (skip
   the reference to the comments.php or the like)?

 * You should be able to un-check the Settings >> Discussion box for comments to
   disable comments for a site.

   as this is a commercial theme.

 * Well, this is an issue that I’ve had with multiple themes – so I thought I’d 
   put the query out on the forums. The issue that I’m having is that with some 
   themes, even if the settings > discussion options are set to turn off comments,
   you often still get a ‘comments are turned off’ type of message. Typically I 
   would just edit the php of the template to get rid of this, but with some themes–
   pagelines included – this is difficult if not impossible to find. Thanks for 
   the thoughts though.

 * I use the “Disable Comments” plugin by Samir Shah and that has solved the problem
   for me. You can choose pages, posts, or media to turn off comments to, or any
   combination of the three.
