Removing Bogus user accounts from SQL

    Hi All
    I have a website that sometime ago had nearly ten thousand accounts created, by some type of hack.
    I basically manually deleted all these accounts, then installed a security plugin to prevent this happening again.
    So far so good.

    The troubles i am having is, although i now have 57 genuine active users, in the user section of wordpress it is still showing as having 44,905 users!!
    The wp-usermeta database is 113 MB which seems very high.
    Is there anyway to tidy up / clean the sql without affecting the genuine users.
    How do i show the genuine amount of users rather than having it display 44,905?

    Any help much appreciated

    WP Sweep is a good plugin that should be able to help you.

    Many thanks
    Am running now.
    It has been ‘sweeping’ the User sweep for about 1 hour and still running.
    its says. There are a total of 57 Users and 737,348 User Meta.
    I will leave it running and see what happens
