Removed widgets from the dashboard but they still appear

Hi, I have removed the ‘search’, ‘archives’ and ‘meta’ widgets from Appearance -> Widgets in my dashboard however they remain at the bottom of my post. In fact, I have removed all widgets from the primary, secondary, etc widget areas yet these 3 remain.

Here is an example of the webpage – http://www.pilgrimsailing.com.au/news.html (please scroll to the bottom of the ‘All The Latest’ article.

Any tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think you not only need to remove them, but install at least one other widget to stimulate it. Once you add another widget, I believe the ones you removed will disappear. Basically, if you do not install a widget manually I believe your theme may be programmed to display those as a default in the absence of another. Also, if you have any caching plugins you might want to try deactivating them and reloading.
