This is a great plugin for cleaning up the database, but now that it’s including caching and image optimization, it’s yet another overlarge Swiss army knife that provides features already installed via other plugins and adds nag notices to wp-admin. I’ve removed it from the sites I manage.

    Hi Steve,

Thank you for your feedback. We’re not at all interested in becoming a “Swiss Army knife”-style plugin, à la JetPack. All features we consider for inclusion will focus upon the one aim of WP-Optimize, i.e. WordPress optimization.

The recent page-cacheing feature is a very small amount of code and has no measurable impact if the user does not choose to turn it on; if you already have another page-cacheing solution, then you can ignore the feature and it’ll make no difference. We appreciate that some power users may wish to have precisely one plugin for every sub-feature within the field of site optimization; unfortunately, it’s a long-established fact that the market isn’t interested in providing any non-trivial support for such plugins, and they can only exist if dedicated amateurs are willing to work for free over a number of years. We wish to provide a professional solution with guaranteed support and updates and, as such, WP-Optimize could not have continued to exist as a single sub-feature plugin.
